COVID-19 Community Recovery & Resilience Building Projects

The Covid-19 Pandemic has caused significant disruption to the lives and livelihoods of communities across the world. In Mandera County, an already marginal county with a high level of poverty and suffering the impact of insecurity due to its proximity to the Somalia border, the pandemic’s impact is noticeable.

As a result, GENCAD with funding from Interpeace and NCIC launched this project to rebuild the livelihoods for women tailors.

The project activities include up-skilling 76 women tailors and their businesses and contracting them to make face masks for school children and vulnerable adults.
