GENCAD International is a registered local NGO in Kenya. We envision a Horn of Africa region in which the poor and marginalised communities exercise their voice, craft their own solutions, and take ownership of their socio-economic development.

GENCAD exists to support
· Pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya in overcoming perpetual marginalisation through economic, social and political empowerment.

Primary Education
We run remedial classes and provide learning resources for children from poor families and building schools.
Women Empowerment
We provide women with micro-grants to give them the opportunity to earn a decent income for themselves and their families.
Secondary Education
We provide classroom resources and scholarships for orphaned and vulnerable girls in secondary education.
Youth Empowerment
We support youth talent development - in sports, creative writing, media training and build resilience to VE.

Building Capacity
We are building the capacities of poverty-stricken communities in Northern Kenya so they can overcome political and economic marginalisation perpetuated by political leaders inside and outside the region.

We will take every opportunity to challenge the status quo which exploits the community's economic vulnerability and lack of opportunities to perpetuate tribal rivalry.
